We will discuss your current running habits and long term goals to help tailor the session to your needs. During this period we will discuss previous injuries and some of the problems you may have experienced whilst running and training. We will also carry out a head to toe physical assessment to help spot potential injuries.
Using the Dynamic Movement system we will ask you to complete a sequence of exercises. The analysis of how you move during each exercise helps us to understand where there are potential weaknesses and imbalances. This information will be used to help analyse your running gait pattern in the next stage.
You will now be filmed running on the treadmill. During this process everything from how your head moves to what part of your foot hits the floor first will be assessed. This part of the analysis is interactive and you will be able to view the footage to help understand how your technique can be improved and changed to make you more efficient and reduce the risk of injury.
You will be sent a full breakdown of the information gained during the session including a tailored exercise routine. Footwear advice can also be included in this report.
If you wish to receive further assistance with strength and balance training following your appointment further sessions and follow up assessments are available on request. We also have a specialist biomechanics podiatrist available if the need for running insoles are identified during the session.
